SAMAC Engineering, in partnership with the Calgary Police Service, has completed 2 years of high speed yaw testing. A total of 29 tests were conducted using three different vehicle types, three different tire types, and variable braking levels. The data was collected using an in-vehicle data acquisition system and will be used to support 2 peer reviewed SAE papers on the accuracy of yaw analyses, recommended measurement of yaw marks, and computer simulation of vehicle speeds and movements during yaw.
