New Electrical Engineer - Dave Hines

A Native of Cape Breton, Dave graduated as an electrical technologist in 2004 and then, as an electrical engineer in 2006. He then spent 3 years as an electrical engineer designing and manufacturing oilfield equipment in Calgary before working on Shell's Albian sands expansion in Fort McMurray.  

 

Steve MacInnis - Trial

Steve MacInnis testified in June on a high profile vehicle accident case in Surrey, BC. Retained by the Delta Police and Crown Counsel on a high profile case, Steve analyzed the speeds and motions of a vehicle which lost control and went into a high speed yaw. It went off-road and struck both a parked vehicle and then a little girl and her aunt who were beside a fence feeding a horse. The child died and the aunt was seriously injured. This was the 42nd trial where Steve has testified as an expert.

Training - Event Data Recorders

3 SAMAC staff attended a recent week-long course to become certified in vehicle airbag control modules and PCM's (power control modules). Tyler was certified, and Steve MacInnis & Vladimir Panlilio were re-certified, by the Collision Safety Institute. SAMAC now has 5 personnel trained and certified to properly download and analyze the data recorders found in many vehicles.

 

Gilles Amirault - Trial Experience

Gilles was qualified for the first time as an expert in accident reconstruction during a recent trial in Fort Macleod. The analysis concerned a night time collision between a car and 2 pedestrians, and involved both a night visibility investigation and detailed pedestrian collision issues.  For further information contact Gilles at gilles.amirault@samaceng.com.
