Technical Leads
We've established single point contacts within the firm for each of the areas in which we work. Steve MacInnis will be the main contact for Industrial and Commercial files, Gilles Amirault for Accident Reconstruction and Materials files, Brent Fukuda for all the Fire and Electrical Failure Analysis files, and Ted Semeniuk will handle all the vehicle mechanical and Worker Safety files.
Vladimir Panlilio, P.Eng (Mechanical, Vehicle)
Vladimir joined SAMAC in September and, with 25+ years of forensic experience in vehicle accident reconstruction, injury causation, and vehicle defect issues, makes a great addition to our team. Vlad can be contacted at vladimir.panlilio@samaceng.com,
Diesel Engine Data
Ted Semeniuk organized an industry course on the Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link (DDDL) in late November. The data is downloaded from Detroit diesel engines found in tractor-trailer units. The 1 day session showed participants how to download and interpret DDEC Reports for maintenance and accident issues.
Materials
Gilles Amirault starts his part-time Masters program in Materials Engineering at the University of Calgary this January. Although he finds materials issues fascinating, he's certainly not looking forward to balancing work, home, and school life.
SEMA Show
Steve MacInnis attended the SEMA show in Las Vegas in November. It had more than 125,000 attendees and over 300 exhibits focused solely on tires and wheels, one of Steve's main areas of speciality.
Perception Reaction Times
Vladimir Panlilio attended a week long course in Edmonton presented by Jeff Muttart. Jeff is a well known researcher and analyst of perception reaction time issues. We are currently using his new program, I*DRR, in many of our analyses.
