We’ve linked a recent technical article entitled “Stopping Trends – Servicing Increasingly Popular Hybrid Brake Systems” with the permission of Tire Review magazine (tirereview.com).
Although related to Ford designs, rather than the more well known Toyota Prius, readers will obtain a greater understanding of how such systems function and an appreciation of the issues behind the recent headlines. Of note is the change in the 2010 Ford design to include a manual override of the brake-by-wire system in the event of panic stops.
